The No.5 generation unit of the Phase III expansion project of Guohua Jinjie Power Plant under China Energy began power generation and was successfully connected to the grid on December 3, marking that the world’s first highly-arranged steam turbine generator started trial operation. It was confirmed that all technical indexes of the unit meet the design requirements, the deviation parameter of its high-level arrangement structure is within the normal range, and the entire generation unit operates well. This laid a solid foundation for the unit’s subsequent commercial operation.

A key project in the national air pollution prevention and control plan and in the 13th Five-Year Plan of Shaanxi, the Phase III project of Guohua Jinjie Power Plant plans to build two 660MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired units, of which the No.5 unit achieved ignition on October 26 this year, completed impulse starting on December 2, and began to generate power and was connected to the grid on December 3.
The Phase III project adopts 16 innovative, intelligent technologies, including the world’s first high-level arrangement of steam turbine unit, eight-unit centralized control, integrated framework spring vibration isolated turbine-generator base, direct air cooling, single boiler auxiliary engine, and centralized control of the whole power plant. It will accumulate key technologies for China to develop 700℃ high-parameter, high-capacity coal-fired generation units in the future, and is significant to promoting China’s energy technological revolution.
